Sales Development Representative
The seat almost everyone starts in. You are trained on the industries and services of four to five clients, together about $250K in annual revenue for Abstrakt, and you book the meetings that grow their business.
Why this role matters
Every meeting you book is a sales conversation a client business would not have had otherwise, so your calendar is their pipeline. It is also why the seat teaches so much: you learn how business owners buy, one call at a time.
What you'll do
- Secure meetings and appointments with decision-makers for client growth
- Manage a pipeline and move prospects through the sales cycle
- Research target industries and the accounts in them
- Find the right decision-maker and deliver the client's message
What success looks like
- Qualified meetings booked for each client you represent, measured against clear goals and metrics
- A pipeline you keep moving through the sales cycle, call after call
- Certification on each client before you represent it
What we look for
- Sales-minded and driven: you like connecting with decision-makers and making things happen
- No sales experience needed. We hire for drive, coachability and communication
- Ready to work from our downtown St. Louis office
The posting does not separate required from preferred qualifications. If you are unsure whether you fit, apply and ask your recruiter.
Know before you apply
This is outbound phone work. Most of the day is calls to business owners and managers who did not ask to hear from you, and most of those calls end in a no. The reps who move up keep their habits steady through that, and the coaching is built to help you do it.
Where you work: Office-based. Sales is a team sport here, so the role sits on the floor, with flexibility and the chance to earn remote work.
Training and support
10 business days of paid training before your first call, then certification on each client, including AI role plays, before you represent it.
Where it can lead
The posting lists defined career paths into sales, sales management and account management. After 90 days you can apply for internal promotions, and high performers can earn a base salary increase after six months. Promotions are earned on performance and depend on open seats; no timeline is guaranteed. Explore the career paths or read stories from people who started here.
Pay and benefits
Posted pay range: $40,000 to $55,000 a year. Pay is base plus commission and is paid twice a month; your offer letter spells out the plan for your role. High performers can earn a base salary increase after six months.
