Under construction, opening 2027
Two new University Health community hospitals in Bexar County, Retama on the Northeast Side (167 beds) and Palo Alto on the South Side near Texas A&M University-San Antonio (227 beds), with added bed expansions planned for 2028.
Both hospitals are moving into interior build-out, so flooring, painting and medical-grade mechanical and electrical work peak ahead of 2027 openings. The approved bed expansions add another round of work in 2028, and two new campuses create long-term cleaning and grounds contracts.

A roughly 17,000 sq ft county animal shelter with 132 kennels, veterinary surgery space and offices at 6841 Cagnon Road on San Antonio's Southwest Side.
