Buildings per contractor: San Antonio and nearby markets
39 nonresidential painting contractors are based in the San Antonio-New Braunfels metro. That is 2 fewer than a year ago. When a contractor closes or sells, its customers go looking for a new one. The trade is 22% more concentrated than the U.S. as a whole. Facility and property teams here already hear from commercial painting contractors, and a specific reason to talk beats a generic pitch. 73.3 larger painting-buying buildings per contractor puts San Antonio 42 of 88 markets, and 6 of 6 in Texas. That sits mid-pack: real room to grow, but the best accounts are contested. If you can serve Austin and Houston, they have more larger buildings per contractor than San Antonio.
Tier 1 covers retail stores, manufacturing plants and senior living and skilled nursing with 50 or more people on site.
How Abstrakt runs it
What your San Antonio appointment-setting program looks like
Your outsourced sales development team works the numbers above under your name. Here is the plan for San Antonio commercial painting contractors.
01
Build the San Antonio list
Your ideal customer profile becomes a target list drawn from the 2,859 larger painting-buying buildings in the metro, starting in Bexar County. That is about 1.9 times the 1,500-account list a Foundation program starts with, so the list is ranked Tier 1 first and worked in waves.
02
Reach the person who signs
For painting, that starts with the facilities manager at retail stores, then two or three contacts at each of the 706 Tier 1 sites. Calls, email and LinkedIn run together; Growth adds direct mail and intent data.
03
Call every month, with the right message
Your SDR calls all year. Jan is the push for bid meetings ahead of the work season (Feb–Dec); the other months lead with service problems, renewals and budgets, so the pipeline never stops filling.
04
Book only qualified meetings
Every meeting passes Right Company, Right Contact and Right Timing, and arrives with the surface notes, the last repaint and the budget year.
05
See every dial
The Results Portal shows every call, email, conversation and booked meeting in the San Antonio program, around the clock.
Guaranteed. We agree the activity or qualified-appointment number in writing before launch. If we miss it, we keep working at no additional cost until we hit it.
Exclusive. We run one program per trade per market, so we will not run painting appointment setting for a direct competitor in San Antonio.
Flat monthly pricing. Foundation is $5,000 a month (best for $2M to $10M revenue), Growth $8,500 (best for $10M to $50M), Enterprise custom. See what each plan includes.

Under construction, opening 2027
Two new University Health community hospitals in Bexar County, Retama on the Northeast Side (167 beds) and Palo Alto on the South Side near Texas A&M University-San Antonio (227 beds), with added bed expansions planned for 2028.
Both hospitals are moving into interior build-out, so flooring, painting and medical-grade mechanical and electrical work peak ahead of 2027 openings. The approved bed expansions add another round of work in 2028, and two new campuses create long-term cleaning and grounds contracts.
Under construction, completion expected April 2027
A roughly 17,000 sq ft county animal shelter with 132 kennels, veterinary surgery space and offices at 6841 Cagnon Road on San Antonio's Southwest Side.
