Buildings per contractor: Madison and nearby markets
16 fire alarm and security systems contractors are based in the Madison metro. The trade is 22% less concentrated than the U.S. as a whole, so a consistent outbound program reaches facility and safety teams that are not tired of contractor calls. 71.7 larger fire-protection-buying buildings per contractor puts Madison 10 of 96 markets, and 2 of 2 in Wisconsin. That is more room per contractor than most metros, so systematic prospecting tends to find accounts nobody is working. If you can serve Milwaukee and Chicago, they have more larger buildings per contractor than Madison.

How Abstrakt runs it
What your Madison appointment-setting program looks like
Your outsourced sales development team works the numbers above under your name. Here is the plan for Madison fire protection contractors.
01
Build the Madison list
Your ideal customer profile becomes a target list drawn from the 1,147 larger fire-protection-buying buildings in the metro, starting in Dane County. That fits inside the 1,500-account list a Foundation program starts with, leaving room to add Milwaukee if your crews travel.
02
Reach the person who signs
For fire protection, that starts with the owner or general manager at restaurants, then two or three contacts at each of the 340 Tier 1 sites. Calls, email and LinkedIn run together; Growth adds direct mail and intent data.
03
Call every month, with the right message
Your SDR calls all year. With no strong weather season, inspection due dates and contract renewal sets the message, and your SDR learns it account by account on the first call.
04
Book only qualified meetings
Every meeting passes Right Company, Right Contact and Right Timing, and arrives with the systems on site, the incumbent inspector, open deficiencies and the inspection due dates.
05
See every dial
The Results Portal shows every call, email, conversation and booked meeting in the Madison program, around the clock.
Guaranteed. We agree the activity or qualified-appointment number in writing before launch. If we miss it, we keep working at no additional cost until we hit it.

Phillip A. Levy Engineering Hall
Under construction; substantial completion December 2028
An eight-story, 395,000-square-foot engineering building on the UW-Madison campus in Madison, replacing a building demolished in 2025.
The state bid an $89.5 million mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection package with mobilization from December 2025, so MEP and fire protection crews are busy through 2028, followed by flooring, painting and building service work.
A four-story outpatient clinic at 750 University Row on Madison's west side with primary care, urgent care, imaging, lab, rehabilitation and pharmacy space.
Clinic interiors bring HVAC, electrical and fire protection work through 2027, then flooring and finish trades before patients arrive in early 2028; UW Health additions at University Hospital and East Madison Hospital are running at the same time.
Proposed; Verona plan commission review October 2026
A proposed Sub-Zero distribution warehouse on about 80 acres of farmland south of Whalen Road, expanding the business park on Verona's southeast side.
If approved, a building this size means steel and tilt-up shell work, a very large low-slope roof, warehouse sprinklers, electrical service for a 24-hour operation and truck courts and lots sized for about 70 truck trips a day.
UW Health, UnityPoint Health – Meriter and Lifepoint Rehabilitation hospital, Fitchburg
Under construction; completion early 2027
A free-standing 40-private-room inpatient rehabilitation hospital at 5094 Greenmarket Place, at Lacy Road and Highway 14 in Fitchburg, built by Findorff.
Interior trades are on site into early 2027: sprinkler and fire alarm systems for an inpatient hospital, patient-room and therapy-gym flooring, and mechanical and electrical fit-out for a 40-room hospital that Lifepoint will operate day to day.
