A new central utility plant, chilled water modernization, backup generators for Chandler Hospital and new utility piping on the University of Kentucky's Lexington campus, delivered through a public-private partnership with Kentucky Infrastructure Partners to support a hospital expansion toward about 1,400 beds.

Distribution piping started in mid-2026 and the plant follows in phases, which is large-scale mechanical, electrical and generator work now, ahead of the hospital expansion's own building systems and finish scopes.
