865 Neyland Entertainment District

Groundbreaking held September 2026

A public-private district between Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena on the University of Tennessee campus in Knoxville, with about 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, a 24-story condo-hotel, restaurants, two plazas and a new garage replacing the G10 garage.

The garage is due August 2027, the district early 2028 and the tower 2029, so paving, electrical and LED display power come first, then hotel mechanical, fire protection and interior finishes, and finally plaza landscaping and event cleaning.

Sam Houston Elementary School expansion

nearly 40,000 square feet
Bid awarded to Merit Construction; about 15 months of construction

Maryville City Schools is expanding Sam Houston Elementary in Maryville (Blount County) with a new front addition, a new and larger gymnasium and a larger library, raising capacity from about 480 to 640 students.

The addition covers the whole front of the building and moves the student drop-off circle, which was to be rebuilt before the 2026 school year, so site paving comes first, followed by the addition's shell, roof and interiors during the school year.
