These are the 10 industries Abstrakt's SDRs call for HVAC work, with how many of each are in the Detroit-Warren metro and who to ask for. Compared with the U.S. as a whole, Detroit-Warren leans toward manufacturing plants (1.71x), senior living and skilled nursing (1.53x) and medical and dental office buildings (1.20x). Buildings per contractor: Detroit and nearby markets
312 nonresidential plumbing and HVAC contractors are based in the Detroit-Warren metro. 7 more opened over the past year, so buyers are fielding new names. The trade is at about the national concentration. 13.0 larger HVAC-buying buildings per contractor puts Detroit 20 of 100 markets, and 3 of 3 in Michigan. That is more room per contractor than most metros, so systematic prospecting tends to find accounts nobody is working. If you can serve Saginaw and Grand Rapids, they have more larger buildings per contractor than Detroit.

How Abstrakt runs it
What your Detroit appointment-setting program looks like
Your outsourced sales development team works the numbers above under your name. Here is the plan for Detroit commercial mechanical contractors.
01
Build the Detroit list
Abstrakt's records already hold 5,624 eligible HVAC targets in the Detroit-Warren metro. Your ideal customer profile becomes a target list drawn from those records and the 4,053 larger HVAC-buying buildings in the metro, starting in Oakland County and Wayne County. That is about 3.7 times the 1,500-account list a Foundation program starts with, so the list is ranked Tier 1 first and worked in waves.
02
Reach the person who signs
For HVAC, that starts with the plant engineer at manufacturing plants, then two or three contacts at each of the 1,462 Tier 1 sites. Calls, email and LinkedIn run together; Growth adds direct mail and intent data.
03
Call every month, with the right message
Your SDR calls all year. Apr–Jun, Sep–Oct is the push for bid meetings ahead of peak service (Nov–Mar, Jul–Aug); the other months lead with service problems, renewals and budgets, so the pipeline never stops filling.
04
Book only qualified meetings
Every meeting passes Right Company, Right Contact and Right Timing, and arrives with the equipment notes, the incumbent and the renewal month.
05
See every dial
The Results Portal shows every call, email, conversation and booked meeting in the Detroit program, around the clock.
Guaranteed. We agree the activity or qualified-appointment number in writing before launch. If we miss it, we keep working at no additional cost until we hit it.
Exclusive. We run one program per trade per market, so we will not run HVAC appointment setting for a direct competitor in Detroit.
Flat monthly pricing. Foundation is $5,000 a month (best for $2M to $10M revenue), Growth $8,500 (best for $10M to $50M), Enterprise custom. See what each plan includes.
Oakland County, Wayne County and Macomb County hold 92% of the larger HVAC-buying sites across the 6-county metro. The other 3 counties split the remaining 8%, which is where Tier 1 accounts justify the drive and smaller sites do not.
County notes
Oakland County: 532 larger medical and dental office buildings and 525 larger manufacturing plants
Wayne County: 477 larger manufacturing plants and 362 larger medical and dental office buildings

What's being built
Detroit-Warren projects that create HVAC work
Named, sourced projects in the metro, current as of 2026-09. Each one is a reason to call before the work is awarded.
$2.2 billion
Henry Ford Hospital Destination: Grand
Under construction (topped out May 2026), completion targeted 2029
A 20-story patient tower with 432 private rooms, 28 operating suites and a 75,000 sq ft emergency department, plus a 1,500-space garage and an all-electric central energy hub, on Henry Ford Hospital's West Grand Boulevard campus in Detroit's New Center.
With steel topped out, the work shifts to mechanical, electrical and fire protection rough-in and the all-electric energy hub, followed by interior finishes, flooring and healthcare cleaning through 2029.
Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital patient tower
Approved; construction start summer 2027, completion 2030
An eight-story, 423,000 sq ft tower with 180 private patient rooms and a new emergency department waiting area at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Troy, Oakland County.

Wayne State University Health Sciences Research Building
Under construction (steel erection spring 2026), completion early 2028
A five-story, 160,000 sq ft biomedical research building across from the Wayne State School of Medicine in Midtown Detroit, connected to Scott Hall by a 180-foot pedestrian bridge.
Research labs need heavy ventilation, exhaust and electrical capacity plus fire protection, with lab flooring and specialty cleaning contracts as the building nears its 2028 opening.
Project Cannoli (Google data center), Van Buren Township
Preliminary site plan approved February 2026; substation approved May 2026; county tax incentives under review
A planned 282-acre Google hyperscale data center in Van Buren Township, Wayne County, with a DTE and ITC substation and switching station on a 9-acre portion of the site.
If it advances, a 1 gigawatt campus means years of high-voltage electrical, cooling, fire suppression and site paving work; the Wayne County incentive vote is the next signal to watch.
Health systems, campuses, large employers and industrial parks hold the biggest concentrations of buildings in the metro. Each fact links to its source, checked 2026-10.

12-month calling calendar
What to say to Detroit facility teams, month by month
Average highs reach 83°F in July and lows drop to 17°F in January, for about 627 cooling and 6,582 heating degree days a year. Heating is the dominant load. Fall is the bigger buying window, and summer cooling still produces its own replacement calls.
Your SDR calls every month. The calendar changes the message, not the effort: push for bid meetings in the red months, lead with service problems in peak months, and build the renewal list the rest of the year.
