The 10 industries a Pittsburgh flooring program prospects into
Pittsburgh flooring2,265target locations across 10 industries
These are the 10 industries Abstrakt's SDRs call for flooring work, with how many of each are in the Pittsburgh metro and who to ask for. Compared with the U.S. as a whole, Pittsburgh leans toward senior living and skilled nursing (2.16x), hospital campuses (1.66x) and owner-occupied and owner-managed commercial buildings (1.49x). Build the list around those categories. Colleges and universities and apartment and multifamily management companies are thinner than the national mix, so treat them as selective targets.

Buildings per contractor: Pittsburgh and nearby markets
27 nonresidential flooring contractors are based in the Pittsburgh metro. 1 more opened over the past year, so buyers are fielding new names. The trade is 42% more concentrated than the U.S. as a whole. Facility and property teams here already hear from commercial flooring contractors, and a specific reason to talk beats a generic pitch. 83.9 larger flooring-buying buildings per contractor puts Pittsburgh 18 of 66 markets, and 2 of 4 in Pennsylvania. That is more room per contractor than most metros, so systematic prospecting tends to find accounts nobody is working. If you can serve Akron, it has more larger buildings per contractor than Pittsburgh.

How Abstrakt runs it
What your Pittsburgh appointment-setting program looks like
Your outsourced sales development team works the numbers above under your name. Here is the plan for Pittsburgh commercial flooring contractors.
01
Build the Pittsburgh list
Your ideal customer profile becomes a target list drawn from the 2,265 larger flooring-buying buildings in the metro, starting in Allegheny County and Westmoreland County. That is about 1.5 times the 1,500-account list a Foundation program starts with, so the list is ranked Tier 1 first and worked in waves.
02
Reach the person who signs
For flooring, that starts with the practice administrator at ambulatory health care: physician, dental, outpatient and urgent care, then two or three contacts at each of the 567 Tier 1 sites. Calls, email and LinkedIn run together; Growth adds direct mail and intent data.
03
Call every month, with the right message
Your SDR calls all year. With no strong weather season, renovation or tenant turnover timing sets the message, and your SDR learns it account by account on the first call.
04
Book only qualified meetings
Every meeting passes Right Company, Right Contact and Right Timing, and arrives with the floor types, the square footage and the renovation timing.
05
See every dial
The Results Portal shows every call, email, conversation and booked meeting in the Pittsburgh program, around the clock.
Guaranteed. We agree the activity or qualified-appointment number in writing before launch. If we miss it, we keep working at no additional cost until we hit it.
Exclusive. We run one program per trade per market, so we will not run flooring appointment setting for a direct competitor in Pittsburgh.
Flat monthly pricing. Foundation is $5,000 a month (best for $2M to $10M revenue), Growth $8,500 (best for $10M to $50M), Enterprise custom. See what each plan includes.
Allegheny County and Westmoreland County hold 75% of the larger flooring-buying sites across the 8-county metro. The other 6 counties split the remaining 25%, which is where Tier 1 accounts justify the drive and smaller sites do not.

What's being built
Pittsburgh projects that create flooring work
Named, sourced projects in the metro, current as of 2026-09. Each one is a reason to call before the work is awarded.
$1.3 billion
UPMC Presbyterian Kamin Tower
Construction wrapping up October 2026; patients move in on January 24, 2027
A 17-story, 636-room hospital tower for cardiology, neurology and transplant care at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood, with 11 operating rooms and four public floors called The Grove.
Final commissioning and punch-list work for mechanical, electrical and fire systems runs through the October finish, then the tower becomes a large ongoing cleaning and facility service account. UPMC says the tower also clears the way for renovation of the rest of the campus.
GE Vernova grid equipment plant expansions, Speers and Rostraver
Construction ongoing at Speers; Rostraver warehouse purchased April 2026
GE Vernova is expanding its 332,000-square-foot grid solutions plant in Speers near Charleroi (Washington County) and moving some smaller equipment manufacturing to a former 700,000-square-foot supermarket warehouse off Interstate 70 in Rostraver (Westmoreland County).
Converting a 700,000-square-foot warehouse into a factory means new plant power, ventilation, sprinkler and floor work, and the Speers expansion adds production space while staffing grows from 600 to 800 workers.
Allegheny Health Network is modernizing building systems at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville and adding a two-story building to house the upgrades plus a conference and education center, replacing learning centers being demolished.
The scope centers on chilled water capacity, electrical substation capacity and two new 2.75-megawatt emergency generators, which is mechanical and electrical work first, followed by interior finishes in the new conference center, where flooring and painting packages come last.
Under construction; broke ground June 2026, completion expected June 2029
A three-phase gut renovation of the 600,000-square-foot Hempfield Area High School in Westmoreland County, built in 1956, including a 70,000-to-80,000-square-foot two-story addition.
Phase one includes new roofs on the pool, auditorium, high school and field house, later phases redo classrooms, the cafeteria and library and rework the parking lot, so roofing, interior finish and paving contractors each have work through 2029.
Under construction; broke ground April 2026, completion slated for fall 2028
A new three-story elementary school for more than 1,000 students in South Fayette Township, Allegheny County, with spaces for STEM, physical therapy and sensory needs.
A new three-story school on its own site brings roofing, site landscaping, flooring and painting packages ahead of the fall 2028 opening, then grounds maintenance after it opens.
