The 10 industries a Richmond flooring program prospects into
Richmond flooring1,166target locations across 10 industries
These are the 10 industries Abstrakt's SDRs call for flooring work, with how many of each are in the Richmond metro and who to ask for. Compared with the U.S. as a whole, Richmond leans toward senior living and skilled nursing (1.28x), auto dealerships (1.26x) and hospital campuses (1.25x). Build the list around those categories. Colleges and universities and owner-occupied and owner-managed commercial buildings are thinner than the national mix, so treat them as selective targets.

Buildings per contractor: Richmond and nearby markets
27 nonresidential flooring contractors are based in the Richmond metro. That is 3 fewer than a year ago. When a contractor closes or sells, its customers go looking for a new one. The trade is 2.1 times the national concentration. Facility and property teams here already hear from commercial flooring contractors, and a specific reason to talk beats a generic pitch. 43.2 larger flooring-buying buildings per contractor puts Richmond 59 of 66 markets, and 2 of 2 in Virginia. That is toward the crowded end, so growth here comes mostly from displacing incumbents at renewal. If you can serve Raleigh and Washington, they have more larger buildings per contractor than Richmond.

How Abstrakt runs it
What your Richmond appointment-setting program looks like
Your outsourced sales development team works the numbers above under your name. Here is the plan for Richmond commercial flooring contractors.
01
Build the Richmond list
Your ideal customer profile becomes a target list drawn from the 1,166 larger flooring-buying buildings in the metro, starting in Henrico County and Chesterfield County. That fits inside the 1,500-account list a Foundation program starts with, leaving room to add Raleigh if your crews travel.
02
Reach the person who signs
For flooring, that starts with the practice administrator at ambulatory health care: physician, dental, outpatient and urgent care, then two or three contacts at each of the 244 Tier 1 sites. Calls, email and LinkedIn run together; Growth adds direct mail and intent data.
03
Call every month, with the right message
Your SDR calls all year. With no strong weather season, renovation or tenant turnover timing sets the message, and your SDR learns it account by account on the first call.
04
Book only qualified meetings
Every meeting passes Right Company, Right Contact and Right Timing, and arrives with the floor types, the square footage and the renovation timing.
05
See every dial
The Results Portal shows every call, email, conversation and booked meeting in the Richmond program, around the clock.
Guaranteed. We agree the activity or qualified-appointment number in writing before launch. If we miss it, we keep working at no additional cost until we hit it.
Exclusive. We run one program per trade per market, so we will not run flooring appointment setting for a direct competitor in Richmond.
Flat monthly pricing. Foundation is $5,000 a month (best for $2M to $10M revenue), Growth $8,500 (best for $10M to $50M), Enterprise custom. See what each plan includes.
Henrico County, Chesterfield County and Richmond city hold 85% of the larger flooring-buying sites across the 10-county metro. The other 7 counties split the remaining 15%, which is where Tier 1 accounts justify the drive and smaller sites do not.

$1 billion
LEGO Manufacturing Virginia
Under construction, full completion expected January 2027
LEGO's first U.S. factory, more than 1.7 million sq ft across 13 buildings including molding, packing and a high-bay warehouse, at Meadowville Technology Park in Chesterfield County.
Steel topped out in October 2025, so the push to a 2027 finish is interior mechanical, electrical, fire protection and floors, followed by ongoing maintenance, cleaning and grounds work on a large campus.
A two-story, 100,000 sq ft outpatient cardiac center with imaging, exam rooms, research space and cardiac rehab at 1505 Robin Hood Road, next to Richmond's Diamond District.
Imaging suites with two MRIs and a CT scanner drive specialized electrical and HVAC work, and the 450-plus space surface lot adds paving and site landscaping before the 2028 opening.
Shamin Hotels Scott's Addition Hotel (Residence Inn and AC Hotels)
Broke ground May 2026, two-year construction
A 12-story, 253-room dual-brand Marriott hotel with a 10,000 sq ft ballroom, rooftop bar and 253-space parking deck at 921 Myers St. near Scott's Addition in Richmond.
Thomas Builders is the general contractor on a two-year build, so subcontract packages for interior finishes, guestroom and ballroom flooring and painting follow the structure, and a 253-room hotel needs housekeeping support and recurring cleaning once open.
The Mondelle (Hilton) at Springline at District 60
Broke ground December 2025, at least two years to build
A 12-story, 270-room Hilton with more than 30,000 sq ft of meeting space, a 12,600 sq ft ballroom, a rooftop restaurant and a rooftop infinity pool at Midlothian Turnpike and Chippenham Parkway in Chesterfield County.
Clancy & Theys is building through at least 2027, and a rooftop restaurant and pool deck make the roof assembly a major package; ballroom, meeting room and guestroom interiors bring flooring and painting work late in the job, then ongoing cleaning for a full-service conference hotel.
A two-story, 340,000 sq ft high school for 2,400 students with more than 100 classrooms, two gyms, a 962-seat auditorium and a 3,500-seat stadium at 17500 Duval Road in western Chesterfield County.
With the structure topped out and an August 2027 opening, the 330,000 sq ft main building moves into roofing, interior painting and flooring for more than 100 classrooms, gyms and an auditorium, followed by a custodial and floor care contract for a school this size.
Construction contract approved September 2026, opening fall 2028
A 325,000 sq ft, roughly 985-bed residence hall with a 13-story tower and eight-story wing, plus dining and retail space, at 700 and 720 W. Grace St. on VCU's Monroe Park campus in Richmond.
Kjellstrom & Lee is construction manager with utility and site work underway, so roofing, interior painting and flooring packages for nearly 1,000 beds, a dining venue and retail space come up ahead of the fall 2028 move-in.
Health systems, campuses, large employers and industrial parks hold the biggest concentrations of buildings in the metro. Each fact links to its source, checked 2026-10.
